The centre of Indonesia’s identity, Java’s dense population & long history has created deep traditions that are very much still palpable in much of the island, added to this are some of the largest Hindu & Buddhist temples in the southern hemisphere, the fact that the population is majority followers of Islam just hints at the cultural diversity found here. Being the densest population for any island on earth would make one think there was little room left for adventure but here on Indonesia’s capital island are some of the country’s most breath-taking waterfalls, volcanic landscapes, remote & wild beaches and some of its most climbable peaks often peppered with caldera’s lakes & hot springs on this lush, fiery island.

Adventure

Despite its density and cultural depth, Java delivers some of Indonesia’s most accessible and varied adventure landscapes. A chain of volcanoes runs the length of the island, creating a dramatic backdrop of smoking craters, highland plateaus, and fertile valleys, while hidden between them are jungle-clad waterfalls and remote pockets of wilderness.
